Kraft & Bauer is the machine tool industries leading supplier of automatic fire suppressant systems that have been developed specifically to take into account the demands of modern production on machines of all types.
The company was founded in 1969 and from the start was involved in the sale and maintenance of manual fire suppressant devices with the first mechanical machine tool fire protection system being designed in 1978 by the founder, Herr Karl Kraft, for small spark erosion machines.
Klaus Bauer joined the company in 1989 thus creating the partnership Kraft & Bauer and launched the start of development into electronically controlled automatic fire suppressant systems; specifically designed for machine tools. Growth has been rapid; in the first year only a handful were sold – 15 years on sales were over 3,500 systems per year and rising!
In 1992 a larger production workshop was created and advancements made into microprocessor technology. By then Kraft & Bauer fire systems had become a firm favourite of many leading machine tool manufacturers.
From 1993 to 2001 the corporate headquarters just outside of Stuttgart was developed and extended as the company’s rapid growth continued. Prompted by the need to support the many leading Swiss machine tool manufacturers and end users the establishment of Kraft & Bauer Switzerland in Niederonz was done in 2004.
2004 also saw the completion of Kraft & Bauer’s purpose built modern HQ in Holzgerlingen just outside of Stuttgart to support over 17,000 systems that are in use in Germany alone.
In 2007 Kraft & Bauer UK was established in Coventry to support the ever growing number of UK customers; both end users, machine tool manufacturers and machine tool importers and in 2016 moved to larger units to accommodate further growth...
